Pope Leo XIV emphasized that the pursuit of ethical AI should extend beyond laboratories and financial interests, calling it “a profoundly ecclesial endeavour.” He said that developing responsible technology “illustrates the dialogue between faith and reason renewed in the digital epoch,” urging the faithful to view AI as part of the Church’s ongoing engagement with modern science and society.

He encouraged participants to see their work as a shared mission to place technology “at the service of evangelization and the integral development of every person.” The Pope highlighted that every initiative, from education to healthcare and digital storytelling, can serve this vision, reminding that “intelligence, whether artificial or human, finds its fullest meaning in love, freedom, and relationship with God.”
