Microsoft has recently released an impressive update to the Bing iOS application. The update includes the addition of new widgets, which are equipped with a shortcut feature leading users straight to Bing Chat. The chatbot is built on the GPT technology, providing a seamless user experience.
The latest features of the Bing app for iOS have been described in a blog post by Microsoft, revealing the addition of two new Home Screen widgets. With these new widgets, users can now initiate a chat with just one tap, a function previously solely available on Android.
Similar to other widgets, the Bing Chat widget is situated on your home screen, providing swift access to initiate a chat upon unlocking your phone. The iOS widget features a search bar enabling users to input any inquiry and a microphone icon facilitating query dictation.
Additionally, there is a camera icon that allows users to conduct a visual search with an image. The widget can be downloaded by first obtaining the Bing Chat app.
Furthermore, the company has expanded its text-to-speech support to include an array of languages such as Arabic, Bulgarian, Catalan, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Estonian, Filipino, Finnish, Greek, Gujarati, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Icelandic, Indonesian, Irish, Italian, Korean, Latvian, Lithuanian, Maltese, Marathi, Norsk Bokmål, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Slovak, Spanish, Swedish, Tamil, Telugu, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian, and Urdu.
Alongside this, the performance of the voice input button on the Bing mobile app has also undergone improvement for both iOS and Android.
Meanwhile, Mikhail Parakhin, CEO of Bing at Microsoft, recently tweeted about the significant upgrades made to Bing Chat, leading to improved performance and faster response times. Moreover, the Bing team has also revamped the voice software development kit (SDK) in the Bing app for iOS and Android, providing higher reliability and reduced latency.
