“Our mission with Bard has always been to provide direct access to our artificial intelligence models, and Gemini represents our most advanced family of models. To reflect this, Bard will now be known as Gemini,” said Vice President and General Manager of Gemini Experiences and Google Assistant, Sissie Hsiao, in a Google blog post on Friday.

Google introduced Gemini Advanced, a new experience that gives users access to Ultra 1.0, the company’s largest and most advanced artificial intelligence model.
In a blind evaluation, Gemini Advanced with Ultra 1.0 emerged as the chatbot of choice, excelling at complex tasks.
With the Ultra 1.0 model, Gemini Advanced is claimed to be more capable of performing highly complex tasks such as coding, logical reasoning, following complex instructions, and collaborating on creative projects.
Gemini Advanced not only allows users to have longer and more detailed conversations, but also better understand the context of the previous prompt.
Gemini Advanced functions as a personal tutor, creating step-by-step instructions and interactive discussions tailored to the user’s learning style.
This feature is also claimed to excel in advanced coding scenarios, providing support for ideation and evaluation of different coding approaches.
In addition, digital creators can also utilize its capabilities in content creation, trend analysis, and audience outreach strategies.
Gemini Advanced is available in over 150 countries and regions in English and will be expanded to multiple languages over time.
It is part of the new Google One AI Premium Plan, priced at $19.99 per month, starting with a two-month no-cost trial.
Subscribers get access to expanded multimodal capabilities, interactive coding features, and more in-depth data analysis.
AI Premium subscribers will also soon be able to use Gemini in Gmail, Docs, Slides, Sheets and more. In addition, Google announced that Gemini will also be able to be used easily on smartphones.
“We heard that you wanted an easier way to access Gemini on your phone. So today we’re starting to roll out a new mobile experience for Gemini and Gemini Advanced with new apps on Android and in the Google app on iOS,” Hsiao remarked.
With Gemini on a phone, users can type, speak, or add images to get help with various tasks, such as finding directions, creating custom drawings, or writing difficult text messages.
On Android, Gemini is a new type of assistant that uses generative artificial intelligence to help users complete tasks.
If you download the Gemini app or activate it through Google Assistant, you can access it from the app or from other places where you would normally activate Google Assistant, such as pressing the power button, sliding a corner on certain phones, or saying “Hey Google”.
Many of Google Assistant’s voice features will be available through the Gemini app, including setting timers, making calls, and controlling smart home devices.
On iOS, Google will soon launch access to Gemini directly from the Google app. Gemini is being introduced on Android and iOS phones in the United States in English, with a full rollout in the next few weeks.
Users will be able to access it in more locations in English, Japanese, and Korean, with more countries and languages to follow soon.
