Google’s browser dominance can be attributed to a lot of different factors, with a trove of helpful extensions definitely playing a small but helpful role. All without an early movers advantage, the browser has claimed and retained an over 70 percent market share, solidifying it as a general gateway to the internet.
In 2025, Google didn’t fundamentally change the browser, but its top extensions list certainly shows that developers did. For reference, around this time last year, the tech giant shared a list of its own favorite extensions for 2024. Like clockwork, Google is now highlighting its top picks for 2025.

With AI playing such a pivotal role during all of 2025, there was no doubt that some of the top extensions of the year would be tools that integrate advanced language models right into the core Google Chrome experience.
The tech giant highlighted Monica and Sider as “all-in-one powerhouses” that bring AI functionality right into the browser’s sidebar, bringing acces to multiple chatbots, real-time information, image and video generation, document summarization, translation, and a lot more!

Elsewhere, the browser also highlighted extensions like HARPA AI, which is a power tool for those that want to automate their web experience with custom workflows, AI commands, and even bots that do the work for you.
Then there’s Quillbot, which is essentially a Grammarly reboot with features like advanced paraphrasing, grammar checking, and AI-powered text generation.
Work and learning
Chrome highlighted two note-taking apps that can help deeply understand content and manage time. Said extensions are Fireflies.ai and Bluedot, both of which automatically record, transcribe, and even summarize your virtual meetings.
Then there’s QuestionAI, which is essentially a homework helper for all subjects, and eJOY AI Dictionary, which, as its name suggests is a vocabulary-based extension that identifies and explains new words in context as you navigate your favorite websites.

The tech giant highlighted the extension for one of the biggest editing apps out there. Adobe Photoshop’s Chrome extension brings essential photo-editing tools directly to the browser. On the other hand, the tech giant highlighted Phia, a price tracker that acts as a personal shopping assistant with features like price comparisons, cheaper alternative identification for products, price drop alerts, insights on resale value, and more!
