AI Made Friendly HERE

Tech giant Google has launched a new feature that integrates its chatbot Bard with its various services, including Google Docs, Gmail, and YouTube.

ALBAWABA – In March of the previous year, Google introduced a chatbot with generative AI technology, naming it “Bard.” This move was a response to the release of the popular chatbot “GPT-3” by the technology company OpenAI. GPT-3’s public release marked the beginning of a competition among tech giants to showcase their generative AI models. However, “Bard” did not receive the same level of attention as “GPT-3,” and it appeared to have less conversational capability.

Google announced that “Bard” would now have the ability to verify its responses and analyze users’ personal data within the Google ecosystem, a step some see as an attempt to catch up with the popularity of “GPT-3.” With this new feature, Google aims to leverage its existing strengths to outperform “GPT-3,” as it already possesses a strong network of cloud services. The new feature allows users to access their data on various Google applications through “Bard.”

For example, users can ask “Bard” to search their files on Google Drive or provide a summary of their Gmail inbox.

Additionally, “Bard” can arrange trips for users by identifying suitable times for each individual from their email inbox, and it can also search for real flight options and hotel reservations. Moreover, it can supply users with YouTube videos to introduce them to places they can visit during their trip.

Jack Krauszek, Senior Product Manager at Google, stated that “Bard” users can currently only retrieve information from Google applications, but Google is working with external companies to integrate their applications with “Bard” in the future.

Verification of Answers
One of the major drawbacks of chatbots is their inability to verify their responses. However, Google has enabled its users to click on the “Search Google” button to confirm the accuracy of “Bard’s” answers and identify the sources of its responses. Google has also allowed users to build on previous conversations with other users, enabling a user to share their conversation with someone else to use it as a starting point for additional questions.
