Easter Sunday is nearly upon us, and for those who might want to abandon traditional ways of celebrating the holiday, several incredible southern Idaho destinations require just a short drive. One travel website has conveniently named the area’s best day trips for kayaking, hiking, wine tasting, and boat tours, and the weather looks like it will be perfect for these types of activities.
The next few days will include more rain for those living in the Magic Valley, but there’s a very bright light at the end of the workweek tunnel that will provide the opportunity to spend the Easter holiday outdoors. It’s time to clean off the kayaks, gas up the dirt bikes, find those hiking boots, and fill the propane barbeques because temperatures are about to warm up nicely.
Egg hunts and community gatherings are nice, but nothing beats the outdoors of southern Idaho with family and friends.
The Magic Valley is an outdoor enthusiast’s dream. Some of my favorite spots to spend the day kayaking are Balanced Rock Park, Thousand Springs State Park, and Twin Falls Park. Twin Falls Park has some of the best kayaking around and is one of the area’s more underrated spots.
Trip Advisor has a great page dedicated to southern Idaho boat tours, wine tasting, kayaking, boating, and other outdoor excursions. The current Easter Sunday forecast is calling for partly sunny skies and temperatures warming into the sixties by Monday. Rain is expected on Thursday and Saturday.
The waters of the Snake River and surrounding lakes are still very cold, but for those lucky enough to own kayaks, Easter Sunday should be pretty nice for getting out on the water. Egg hunts and community gatherings are nice, but nothing beats the outdoors of southern Idaho with family and friends.
