Reve Image 1.0 is creating stunning images for free: Here’s how to use it | Technology News

This week, some of the biggest names in artificial intelligence are unveiling their innovative image generation models. Among the companies taking the internet by storm is California-based AI startup Reve AI Inc., which has launched its text-to-image generation model, Reve Image 1.0. This advanced model excels in areas such as prompt adherence, typography, and aesthetics. Reve Image 1.0 is the company’s first AI offering to be released publicly.?

At present, the Reve Image 1.0 generation is available for free preview at preview.reve.art, allowing users to generate images with text prompts. Interestingly, users need not know about advanced prompt engineering. Besides, Reve AI is yet to announce API access or pricing plans. It is unclear if the new image model will be closed or open source.

Ever since the launch of the text-to-image generation model, several AI enthusiasts and users on X (formerly Twitter) have taken to the platform to share their ingenious creations. Here are some samples from X.

Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg on a coffee date

The world’s richest man, Elon Musk, who has had a rocky relationship with Meta chief Mark Zuckerberg, catching up to Starbucks, could be a highly unlikely scenario. However, Reve Image 1.0 can bring the most fiendish of foes together. AI enthusiast Bilawal Sidhu shared on X four images that he created using the new image model. “Holy crap. Reve is REALLY good. No surprise that it’s currently #1 in the artificial analysis text-to-image leaderboard – ahead of Recraft v3, Imagen v3 and FLUX 1.1 Pro. This team cooked, and it shows,” he wrote on X while sharing four images.

The first image shows Musk shaking hands with Zuckerberg in a backdrop that looks like Starbucks. In the second image the duo can be seen munching on a Happy Meal at McDonald’s; the third one shows Musk walking with Darth Vader trailing behind, and the last one shows Godzilla unleashing its wrath over a city.

Holy crap. Reve is REALLY good.

Incredible details

A user @SDT_side shared images of their creation with Reve. The images showed a girl snapped with a Coca-Cola bottle; the four variations show incredible details – from fingers and skin texture to hair and eyebrows. The model shows how AI is gradually getting better at composing images that are closer to reality.

Another user, shared some images that seemed too real.

Elon Musk in Chandni Chowk and the iPhone 16e billboard

Seeing all the creative images that have been flooding X, we thought of trying out the image model. Firstly, we tried a prompt – Elon Musk eating street food in Chandni Chowk. The model within seconds generated four images showing the Tesla chief savouring street foods; the images appeared photorealistic.

Next we prompted the model to create a billboard ad for the newly launched iPhone 16e.

While the model created images corresponding to the prompt, we thought of editing the prompt to make the model generate the popular ‘shot on iPhone’ billboards. Although it generated the output, the results were not what we expected.

How do you imagine an attractive man or woman?

Next, we asked the model to generate an image of an attractive woman. The four outputs showed four women in white tops and blue pairs of jeans. While two of them were Asian, the others seemed of European descent. However, all of them sported brunette hair. Similarly when prompted to generate an image of an ‘attractive man’, the model showed four variations of men in professional attire and all of them seemed European.

The images placed the men and women at the centre of the frame, with a shallow depth of field blurring the background. The output largely seemed like professional portrait photography with natural lighting and shallow depth of field.

Images with text

One thing that has many AI models grappling with has been generating error free text in images. We tried to prompt Reve Image 1.0 to create a motivational poster with a quote by Helen Keller – “Joy is the holy fire that keeps our purpose warm and our intelligence aglow.” The model generated posters with text without any errors. This can be a great tool for instant poster designing.

A user on AI also shared an innovative poster with text generated by Reve Image 1.0. The typography appeared sharp and intriguing.

The model was also asked to create a birthday invite with the below text:

…You’re Invited to a Gothic Birthday Bash!

Join us for a night of fun, food, and goth vibes!

Date: 15th January 2025

Time: 9:00 PM

Place: Supertech Complex, House No. 68, Ghaziabad, UP, 201010

Theme: Goth – Dress in black and bring out your dark accessories.

BYOB: Feel free to bring your beer!

Menu: Delicious food and desserts will be served…

The text in the poster is error free, yet it could be better.

The new model by Reve AI brings a deeper understanding of user intent, which seems to be its distinction. The model not only creates images from text but also allows users to modify the same with simple language commands. These changes could include modifications with colour, text, and even perspectives. Reve Image 1.0 also supports uploading reference images, allowing users to create visuals that match a specific style. It needs to be noted that none of the images generated by the model had generated by AI watermark or any visible identification.

The image model has been evaluated by Artificial Analysis, a third-party AI model testing service. The Image Arena of Artificial Analysis, which ranks image generation models based on user reviews and other metrics, has ranked Reve as number 1 for its image generation quality. It has reportedly outperformed Midjourney v6.1, Recraft V3, Black Forest Lab’s FLUX 1.1 Pro, and Google’s Imagen 3.

How to try Reve Image 1.0?

To try the free preview, one needs to have a valid email address. Once logged in, they can prompt to create images of their choice. By default it shows four options for an output; however, users can change it to one, two, or even eight. The input box allows users to set their desired aspect ratio. The input has an Enhance option; toggling it would help you improve your prompt. The auto option lets you set an image seed to create or vary a generation.
